Global Rhythms 2017 Says Yes To Protecting The Planet!

We’ve all seen the state in which our parks and public areas can often be left after a music festival. In 2017 we believe it’s time to change the way we attend our live music. As a result Global Rhythms will be encouraging all patrons to consider the planet this September as the sustainability arm of the music festival continues to grow.

In line with our ‘no plastic water bottles for sale’ policy we’ve renewed our partnership with Aquabubbler and will be installing a water bubbler station to provide access to unlimited free water all day and night. Managing Director Brendan Lynch of Aquabubbler says: “It’s great to see this access return to music festivals, which over the past decade have commodified water and the plastic bottle into a premium.” Green Music Australia will be also be conducting surveys on the day in conjunction with their #BYOBottle national awareness campaign

We’ve also invited along Edible Kids Gardens to create a beautiful, sensory nature-filled space where kids are free to harness their imaginations and explore their inner boundaries. The Pirates of Plastic will be on hand to take people on adventures around Rozelle Bay collecting plastic from our waterways. Recycled Clothing courtesy of Winding Roots will be for sale and Boomerang Bags are setting up workshops to stitch bags from recycled materials and help reduce the use of single use plastic bags.

So join us for a unique and environmentally sustainable celebration of diversity and good music at this family-friendly event in the beautiful waterfront Bicentennial Park, Glebe. Complete with amazing views and ample grass areas to sit and enjoy, tickets are only $40 with Teenagers for $10 while Kids 12 & Under are free!
